This is an autobiographical account of the life of Christopher Sproule from his early days in Germany just after the Second World War to the present time. It traces his ‘jackeroo’ days on various stations in Queensland, the North West and the North Eastern goldfields of Western Australia until he bought his own property at Esperance to start a small thoroughbred and successful Australian pony stud. The stories Christopher Sproule has told cover a wide range of life's experiences about station managers, good and bad, racehorse trainers and many animals (mainly horses) and their personalities. It is a delightful account of a life spent loving animals sprinkled with many anecdotes and adventures about the people the author came across.
