In July 2005, Robert Excell, a convicted Paedophile, was paroled and deported to England in the basis that, although he had been sent to Western Australia aged ten under the Fairbridge Farm scheme and had lived in W.A. for 57 years he was not an Australian citizen. His Australian born wife asked that he be released into her custody and that of her extended supportive family or friends but her request was denied so she sold her house and other property and accompanied him. This is her autobiography in which she also tells Roberts story. It is an indictment of our prison system and our Immigration and Justice Departments.
