Searching for a Book

Quick Search

Simply type a search term in the space provided, and click Search. This Quick Search option will search for any word string or keyword contained in a book title or author name.

Browse Departments

Click on the department category to generate an exhaustive list of subcategories, which you can then click on to further target your search by genre.

Assisted Search

Can't find the book you are looking for? Let us find it for you. Click on this and provide as much information as you can i.e.Title, Author, Format (hardcover, softcover, etc), Subject or ISBN and we'll try to find the book and email you back with price and availability details.

Registering/Opening A Member Login Account

We'll ask you to enter your email, name, street address and telephone contact details, then submit the form to have your member account setup. Once your member account is established we will email you the login details.
You can browse at any time without opening an account and you DO NOT need to open an account to purchase an item. However, setting up a password-protected member account means you can benefit from the additional services provided, including order status inquiries and changing your personal details by using the 'My Account' link in the top navigation bar.

Logging In and Out

Simply type in your Account Name/Code and password in the Member Login box or follow the 'My Account' link in the top navigation bar. If you wish to change any of your details at any time, you may of course do so.

Your password is secure. If you forget it, simply click on the Contact Us link in the Member Login box and we will email your password to you. However, for security reasons, we will only send the password to the email address you originally used to register at our site.

If you are using a shared computer to shop at Access Press you should remember to log out when you have finished shopping, so that the information you've entered isn't accessible to other people using the computer.

Password Assistance

If you have forgotten your password, simply click on the Forgot Password link in the Member Login box and we will email your password to you. However, for security reasons we will only send the password to the email address you originally used to register at our site.

How to Make a Purchase

Locate a book. Use the Search or Browse buttons on the top toolbar or left side of every page. A list of titles related to your chosen topic will then appear.
Click the Title link to go to the detail page.
If you decide to purchase the book on the detail page, click the Add to Basket link. You can keep adding items to your shopping basket as you browse the online shop. Each time an item is added your shopping basket in the top right hand corner will be updated. You are able to edit and delete items from your shopping basket at any time by selecting ‘Edit Basket’ Nothing is finalised until you submit your payment details, so feel free to add and remove items until you are happy with your choices.
You will then be taken to your Shopping Basket Order which shows the title(s) you currently wish to purchase.
Once you have finished shopping, click the Go to Checkout button, which is located below your Shopping Basket Order.
Enter your Contact, Delivery, Payment Details and any Optional instructions.
Make your final choices and review all of the information on your order. If correct, click the Place Order button.

Availability Guide

Available for purchase: The item is in stock and will take 2-3 days to pack and prepare for despatch. If stock runs out during this time, you will be notified via email as soon as possible. Your credit card will not be charged until your order is ready for despatch.
Not Available: This item is out of stock but may become available again in the future so keep checking or contact us 


Complete - Your order will be held until all items are available for shipping as one package, with only one shipping charge.

Part - Your order will be shipped as the items become available, with possible multiple shipping charges.

Cancelling an Order

It may be possible to cancel all or part of any order, provided you contact us before you receive email notification that the order has been despatched.

The most popular and the easiest and simplest means of payment is by credit card to our website.

Submit by Fax or Phone:

Use this option if you prefer not to submit your credit card details via the Internet. When filling out your order form, simply complete the special instructions box and forward your order on-line. When you have received an Order Number, please print off the order form and complete with your credit card details (i.e. card number, expiry date, cardholder name and signature) then fax it to us, or alternatively phone us with the necessary credit card information.

Cheque / Money Order Payments

We also accept cheques from within Australia or Bank Cheques and drafts from abroad. International Orders must be paid by International Draft in Australian Dollars (AUD$) drawn on an Australian bank. When completing your order, simply fill in 'Cheque/Money Order to follow' in the special instructions box. Your completed order will be assigned an Order Number. Please include this Order Number on the back of your cheque/money order. Upon receipt of payment, we reserve the right to delay shipment of your order until the funds clear. Please note that Australian cheques/money orders may take 5-7 business days to clear, while international money orders/drafts may take 30 days.

All orders received before 2:00pm [AWST] are processed and shipped the NEXT day.
Toll Priority deliveries are NOT available to PO Boxes, RMB or Locked Bag addresses. Toll Priority does NOT deliver on Saturday or Sundays.

Domestic (Within Australia)

We use the following domestic shipping methods:
  • Toll Priority (usually next business day delivery to capital cities and major regional centres)
  • Australia Post Parcel Post (delivery times vary) where a street delivery address is not provided or at your request.

International (Outside Australia)

We will post anywhere in the world. We charge only our distribution cost to Australia Post for this service. We can offer the following international shipping methods through Australia Post:
  • Australia Post Air Mail
  • Australia Post Economy Air
  • Australia Post Sea Mail
International shipping costs and delivery times vary. We will email you with a shipping quote for these orders. You will then have the option to continue with your order based on the shipping quote, or cancel the order.


Single Shipping Address

If all of the items in your order are being shipped to the one address complete your shipping details in the space provided.

Multiple Shipping Addresses

If you wish to ship certain items to different addresses complete a new order for each shipping address.

Returns Policy

  1. Take care when selecting your items as we don’t offer refunds or exchanges for on-line purchases unless they are faulty. We accept returns and provide an exchange service up to 14 days after you receive your order, subject to the following conditions:
  2. Returned items must be accompanied by proof of purchase (eg. a receipted Tax Invoice, or order confirmation email),
  3. Be in a saleable condition,
  4. Replacement of defective books will be with the SAME title,
  5. Your purchase was not a special order,
  6. Shipping charges are not refundable (unless the wrong/defective item was shipped),
  7. We do not pay for postage on returns.
  8. Books with CD-ROMS or disks CANNOT be returned once the seals on these items have been broken.
  9. Access Press cannot offer cash refunds (unless the goods are defective). Instead, all exchange items will be replaced with an equivalent amount of store credit or gift voucher.

Returns Procedure

The following procedures should be followed to ensure your returns request is promptly processed:
  1. Request a 'Customer Return or Exchange' Form and fill in the information. All information must be completed, legible, and included in your return package.
  2. Include a copy of your proof of purchase.
  3. To obtain an exchange for a non-defective product, it must be returned in a resaleable condition - preferably in its original packaging.

International Customers

Verification Process

Because of the high incidence of international fraud, Access Press has a rigorous international customer verification process for your protection. For this reason, we may request a faxed copy of your credit card statement showing your billing address, and a faxed copy of your credit card, should any of the following occur:
  • Your order is for shipping outside of Australia.
  • There is excessive ordering on your account or to the same shipping address.
  • Your order receives a high fraud rating or appears fraudulent.
  • Your phone number is invalid.

Ordering Agreement

When placing an order, international customers automatically agree to the following policies:
  • Access Press abides by all Customs rules and regulations.
  • Access Press is not liable for any lost orders within the country of delivery, where those orders contain restricted materials.
  • Access Press does not devalue the cost of the goods.
  • Access Press is not liable for Australia Post International Parcel Post shipments that are lost.
  • Access Press is not responsible for international duty taxes and any other incurred taxes that will be charged back to the customer. Customers will be charged for any fees incurred by refused shipments.

Access Press is committed to complying with National Privacy principles and will comply with other laws applicable to our business in relation to our customers' privacy.

The only personal information we collect is what you tell us about yourself (for example, when using our price and availability inquiry service, creating a lay by, registering on our website, or opening an account).

4. Changing & Removing the Information We Have About You

Access Press takes all reasonable precautions to ensure the personal information we collect, use and disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. However, the accuracy of the information we hold depends largely on the information you provide.

5. Cookies

Access Press uses two types of cookies on this website. These are session cookies and permanent cookies.

Session Cookies uses session cookies during a search query of the website. Our Internet Service Provider has assured us that the only cookies used on this website are those associated with the shopping basket. Statistics for this website are generated from web logs, not cookies.
After closing your browser, the only cookie information stored is an ID number relating to your shopping basket, so that on your next visit, the shopping basket will contain your order.

Permanent Cookies

To enable us to recognise each time your browser visits the Access Press site it downloads a cookie onto your hard drive.
When you visit we make a record of your visit and log the following information for statistical purposes:
  • Your server address
  • The date and time of your visit
  • The pages you accessed and the documents downloaded
  • The previous site you have visited.
Access Press may use this information to create a customer profile of you, and allow us to tailor offers or marketing material that we believe may be of interest to you. This information is never shared or disclosed to anyone.

You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons. Access Press reserves the right to charge a fee for searching for, and providing access to your information.

We reserve the right to change, modify or amend this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make a significant change to this policy, we will post a notice of the change on If the Access Press website contains a link to another website, we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such other websites.
